Travelling Plant is a transdisciplinary project curated by Lina Vincent and led by the Goethe-Institut, the Alliance Française of Chennai, and the Institut Français de Pondichéry. It brings together five artists for a one-month residency, fostering exchange across art, ecology, and cultural memory.

The Cité internationale des arts has invited the Fondation H, a Madagascan contemporary art foundation based at the Cité, to curate this evening of Open Studios. The public is invited to go through the doors of eight artists' studios and discover artistic practices that respond to the themes developed in the exhibition Tàn xó [Memory in prose] by Sènami Donoumassou, currently on show at Fondation H and a former resident at the Cité internationale des arts.

@goetheinstitut_chennai, Alliance Française of Madras @afmadras and the French Institute of Pondicherry @ifp.india are thrilled to welcome you the INAUGURATION of our exhibition Travelling Plants.
Curated by Lina Vincent @objectspeak, Travelling Plants showcases the works of our five local and international artists for the first time, the culmination of a four week residency, in which the artists delved deeply into the fascinating world of plants, guided by the botanists, researchers and experts at IFP.
Expect a engaging evening where art, nature, culture and creativity meld together! Meet the curator, sip on refreshing drinks created from extracts by @berengereberieau, savour experimental plant-based cooking by @vizhamedai, and get adorned with intricate Arabic mehendi by Vimala. Plus professional make-up artists from @kryolandofficial will showcase transformative power of plants and makeup through floral facepainting, followed by portrait photography by Jinkle.
We’ll also unveil the community project by Chennai’s own @artistparvathinayar, an installation bringing together contributions of photographs by you of plants from your local surroundings. Submit yours now!
