Dernier ek premier souf

Dernier ek premier souf is a triptych in which rhythm sets in, a breath, a rebirth, where water becomes both tomb and amniotic fluid. The images oscillate between the end and the beginning, the last breath and the first, capturing that suspended moment when life and death brush against each other, when water both envelops and liberates.

Water, fluid and elusive, becomes a metaphor for existence, sometimes a protective cradle, sometimes a deep abyss. It welcomes bodies and stories, covering them with its silent veil, dissolving or resurrecting them. Each wave, each flash of light on its moving surface, is a reminder of the perpetual cycle of life - a liquid memory that preserves the last echoes and the first whispers.

The yellow chrysanthemums floating on the water add a powerful symbolic dimension. In Asia, these flowers are synonymous with light and life, an emblem of vitality and resilience. In the West, on the other hand, chrysanthemums evoke death and mourning, underlining the duality of the work. They embody both end and rebirth, a fluid transition between two states, revealing the beauty and complexity of natural cycles.

In this visual dialogue, water becomes a matrix and a shroud, a space where opposites coexist, where each breath is both a farewell and a promise. It's a poetic journey across abysses and surfaces, a constant back-and-forth between disappearance and emergence, between oblivion and memory, a slow, deep beat that pulses to infinity.
